The South Whidbey Community Center Mission

The South Whidbey Community Center exists to strengthen community by bringing people together through art, education, recreation, wellness, and social connection. We provide a welcoming, inclusive space where individuals and families of all ages can learn, create, and grow.

Through accessible programs, collaborative partnerships, and affordable space for community-led initiatives, the Center serves as a hub for creativity, personal development, and support. We honor the unique history and diversity of our community while working to meet its evolving needs—ensuring a safe, connected environment where everyone has the opportunity to participate, access resources, and belong.

Campus Stewards

The South Whidbey Community Center is a unique community resource—one that operates without direct taxpayer funding. While the campus property is owned by the South Whidbey School District, the Community Center itself is sustained through campus partner rent, grants, volunteers, and community donations. To help make that possible, a dedicated nonprofit partner was created: Campus Stewards of the South Whidbey Community Center.

Campus Stewards is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that receives and manages donations made in support of the Community Center and its campus. Their mission is to help revitalize and maintain the Center’s facilities so the campus can continue to provide opportunities for learning, creativity, recreation, and community connection.

Working in collaboration with the Community Center and its Campus Partners, Campus Stewards helps direct financial support to the projects, improvements, and initiatives that keep the campus active and accessible for the entire South Whidbey community. Because the Community Center does not operate on local tax dollars, community support plays a vital role in sustaining this shared space.
