Because invasive plants never fully go away it is time to gather again as volunteers in an effort to control and eradicate the Tansy Ragwort at the Sports Fields (Back Upper Fields) at the South Whidbey Community Center. If you use these fields, this is your chance to show your appreciation and support for this amazing community asset.
Back Story:
The South Whidbey Field Rehabilitation Project began when Brian McCleary recognized the need for improved athletic field space and brought the opportunity to the attention of Campus Stewards. What started as a response to limited winter field access—due to Parks & Recreation seasonal closures and inadequate existing facilities—quickly grew into a broader vision for a year-round, accessible outdoor space for the Langley community.
